BPL is focused on increasing its efforts to minimising its environmental impact and has acted to reduce its carbon emissions, energy usage and waste.
BPL’s efforts to measure and cut carbon emissions year on year have been recognised and certified by The Carbon Trust Standard.
BPL has implemented a phosphate reduction technology to comply with environmental water quality emissions set by the Environment Agency – and is viewed as first in its kind in the UK.
Through BPL’s focus on production efficiency, the company has reduced product wastage during the manufacturing process, with plans implemented to reduce wastage further until its 2023 target figure is achieved. BPL has also upgraded systems and processes relating to packaging regulations.
