BPL is focused on increasing its efforts to minimising its environmental impact and has acted to reduce its carbon emissions, energy usage and waste.
BPL’s efforts to measure and cut carbon emissions year on year have been developed. Bio Products Laboratory is committed to achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050.
BPL has implemented phosphate reduction technology to comply with environmental water quality emissions set by the Environment Agency. This technology is viewed as the first of its kind in the UK. Through BPL’s focus on production efficiency, the company has reduced product wastage during the manufacturing process, with plans implemented to reduce wastage further until its 2023 target figure is achieved. BPL has also upgraded systems and processes relating to packaging regulations.
